BBD - Rainy Day StudiosART SHOP
I'm an illustrator and graphic designer based in Maple Falls, Washington in the foothills of Mount Baker. My illustrations are inspired by the local beauty, the rivers where salmon spawn and bald eagles come for the winter, farms and barns, flowers, birds and wildlife of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I've been a graphic designer for over 25 years and am now focusing on my illustrations, greeting cards and art prints. I am currently working on Activity Books and Coloring Books for adults to add to my catalog.
Our retail business is truly a small business ~ art prints are printed individually, greeting cards are currently printed in batches of 25. High quality printing and paper is important to me. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests.
My artwork Celebrates Earth and all of it's wonders. I am honored that my artwork has been used to support N-SEA, Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, Whatcom County's local organization helping salmon recovery. My illustrations can also be seen in projects for Harbin Hot Springs, Northern California's cherished hot springs retreat center located in Lake County, CA.
The inspiration keeps flowing. Look for new designs each month as we expand our collection throughout the seasons. Thank you so much for supporting artisans and small businesses!
Bella Blue Designs was originally founded by Jocelyn in 2002 to take ownership of her original art. Over time she began providing art and design for freelance and contract projects in the California Bay Area. Bella Blue was busy and fulfilling - lates night projects along with a full time design job - always keeping pace with the ever changing technology and advances in the digital art world.
The business evolved into a partnership in 2012 when Jocelyn and John got married on a gazebo in Cape Cod Massachusetts. The importance of art was included in the marriage vows, bliss has ensued. A few fantastic years in Northern California abruptly ended when a forest fire whipped through town, spitting them out like little pinecone seeds where they eventually landed fairly softly in Western Washington State, now soaking up the rain and relaunching Bella Blue Designs with a renewed focus on art and illustration inspired by the wonders of the Cascades.
